Governor Jindals' health care proposal

The Republican Governor of Louisiana, Bobby Jindal, proposed the following for a national health-care policy:

Insurance reform. Congress should establish simple guidelines to make policies more portable, with more coverage for pre-existing conditions. Reinsurance, high-risk pools, and other mechanisms can reduce the dangers of adverse risk selection and the incentive to avoid covering the sick. Individuals should also be able to keep insurance as they change jobs or states.

Very unimpressed with Hillary Clinton

I'm just absolutely
baffled
as to why Hillary Clinton and Carl Levin consider it
a good idea to insist that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki be
removed. First, his removal won't
improve anything

Why do some institutions exist?

by the German author Rolf Hochhuth, the question of what the Roman
Catholic church should have done about Nazi persecution of the Jews was
raised forcefully. The book acknowledged that the Roman Catholic
church faced the very real possibility of extinction, but asked what

Interesting views on impeachment and YearlyKos

percent of the population on our side in order to make impeachment
work. Worth taking into consideration as he's one of those who
thinks Dubya is the worst president ever.

Thanks Kim! My short name is Rich, BTW. I managed to get the whole four-part WaPo series on Cheney printed out here at work, but it'll probably take me another week or so to read it all, so I'll give y'all a report, but it's hard to say when.
Interesting times, as the Chinese say. Interesting times.
