About me
I believe John Donne had it right when he said no man is an island.
Every man's death diminishes me (and you!!). Do this for the rest of the world (you owe them at least this much).
I am an observer of this action and hope intensely that right will triumph.

Dear Mr. Obama.

Dear Mr Obama;
contrary to what seems to be the opinion of vast numbers of Americans; the world does not start and end with the USA. No action by any political leader in your country (or any other country for that matter) should lead to the death of a SINGLE individual - it really is that simple!!!.
Your country has lost more than 4000 of your armed forces personnel due to the decisions of Mr. Bush and if that was not criminal enough, consider the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi people (men, woma… Continue

Read the orbituaries around the world for Alexander Solzhenitsyn. The people who run the news media around the world would do themselves and their countries a power of good if they would but try to speak truth to the masses and to power the way Solzhenitsyn did. I read nearly all his works many years ago and could see that he was a gift and an example to mankind. Every activist who attempts to highlight the cynicism of the various governments and political parties earns, even if only in a small… Continue

Just read Dennis Loo's article on the continuing objectives of The World Cant Wait and while I am totally in sympathy; I think that a re-defined objective is in order: If Bush and his cohorts manage to see out the end of his term (which seems likely), the rest of the world would take heart in knowing that they will CONTINUE to be pursued with a view to holding them accountable for the many lives that have been so needlessly lost. NO OTHER OBJECTIVE WILL CUT IT IF YOU ARE TO BE SEEN AS A NATION OF LAWS. Otherwise all the talk and all the energy hitherto spent was so much hot air in a nation of hypocrits.

Tony, please spread this new plan to any folks you know in the U.S. -- 9/11/08 strike (let me know what you think, too!). Thanks!

Thx much for your reply, Tony! Absolutely the world needs to see that Americans are DOING something (which has not yet been *enuf*)... This has been point #2 of 4 in my email sig line re impeachment for a few years.
Pls. notify anyone residing in the U.S. whom you're in contact w. about the May 1 strike (stay home from work and from unnecessary spending). Especially if you know of any GROUPS to consider endorsing this event by contacting Admin@PledgeToImpeach.ORG (even if they're not pro-impeachment but anti-Iraq-War or conservatives wishing to regain our democracy, etc.). If you're on any online *lists* that some U.S. residents (even non-citizens) might read.
If it's of any help to you or anyone else reading this, below is basically the email I've sent to all my contacts.
Thanks!
Pat

SUBJECT: Impeach / Peace activists... MAY DAY!

Calling all patriotic Americans...
STRIKE for Impeachment! STRIKE for Peace!
May 1, 2008!

This is an invitation for all individuals and groups (unions, religious organizations, veterans, activists, constitutionalists, conservatives, progressives, etc.) in the U.S. to join in a nationwide stay-home-from-work-and-shopping statement of principle May 1.
Read and sign the pledge of solidarity at http://PledgeToImpeach.ORG and urge your group to endorse the May 1 action by contacting admin@PledgeToImpeach.ORG

By 90%, Longshore Caucus delegates of the International Longshore and Warehouse Workers Union (ILWU) passed a resolution to oppose the Iraq occupation towards safely bringing the troops home and re-deploying war funding for domestic needs such as healthcare and education. This demand will take place via stopping work at Pacific ports on May 1, 2008.

Finally, Pledge to Impeach (PTI) has a powerful partner with whom to forge solidarity between labor and activist organizations. All true patriots: WE MUST NOT SQUANDER THIS OPPORTUNITY to finally have our voices heard for impeachment (before unconstitutionally-seized Executive powers are inherited by the next administration), for bringing the troops home, for protesting the blatant abuses of our liberties, the tax dollars given to corrupt war profiteers, the outsourcing of our jobs and shrinking of the middle class, the raping of our economy... the non-stop valuation of profits over people!

Millions of Americans oppose the direction our government has been taking us but have not taken unified action. We need SOLIDARITY if we are to bring sufficient pressure upon Congressional "leaders" and upon 2008 presidential candidates!

PTI is submitting a statement of solidarity to the ILWU by APRIL 4th. We would like this to include every peace and impeachment group in the country! Please contact admin@PledgeToImpeach.ORG with the commitment to communicate to all your group's members plus everyone in your community to join us in staying home from work and shopping on May 1, 2008!

The ILWU Caucus approved a one-day action. PTI considers this a wake-up call to Congress. Once we have gotten their attention via a sizable, nationwide (it's *possible*--the ILWU out of San Francisco resulted in a nationwide strike in the '30s) one-day strike / boycott, we can accompany a subsequent demand with a credible threat to strike and boycott again. PTI has long advocated that the only effective means "We, the People" have in this day and age to influence D.C. is our collective economic voice.

PTI has always declined to endorse actions that did not look viable for success or that we felt were insincere. This one appears to be different. The stop work action in CA, OR, and WA is official. PTI is preparing to call our strike for May 1 in solidarity! For almost four years PTI has advocated a comprehensive stay-home strike and boycott of unnecessary spending to back any unmet demand communicated to Members of the U.S. House to pass Articles of Impeachment. THOUSANDS of U.S. residents (you needn't even be a citizen) have signed the PTI Pledge to STAY HOME should such a strike be called. May 1 has been "immigrants' rights" day the past two years; we invite ALL working residents in the United States to join us THIS May 1!

Neighbors--we've gotta talk amongst ourselves BEFORE a domestic false flag "terrorist" event panics the American public into drinking the kool-aid again and unleashing an attack on Iran for bogus reasons.

Please help spread the word! Every person in this country who knows that our freedom--and our children's / grandchildren's future--depends upon restoring the Constitution... mark your calendar for MAY 1 and tell *everyone* you know to do likewise! If you agree with the PTI rationale, sign our confidential Pledge, and contact like-minded impeachment / anti-war / take-back-America groups to join this campaign and to build national unity through this action! Time is short. It is also critical that the voice of The People come front and center in all 2008 candidates' campaigns! This may be our only chance!

Tony,
Please read my post about the MAY 1st strike!
If you agree (please feel free to comment!), let everyone you know become aware... THIS is our (last?) chance--for impeachment, for ending the occupation of Iraq, AT LEAST for forcing our topics into the presidential campaigns!
Defending Freedom through National Solidarity!

Thx much for the comments, Tony! You may know (altho' regular folks here don't as the media declines to report) that there really has been a sizable impeachment movement for years here (I was a participant online starting in 2003 but became fully committed to one group in 3D in 2007. 'Tho at least 1 group started in 2000 when Dubya was coronated unconstitutionally rather than allow we Floridians to hand count our votes.)

Not sending an SOS exactly yet (but please come to the rescue when you see an absence of dissidence due to us ALL being locked up), but here's one thing that you might consider spreading around--on the 'net or if you have any contacts in the U.S. --What I believe is our only actionable chance at impeachment or anything else: shutting down the economy until demands are met:

G'Day to ya, Tony. Thanks for being here!

Howdy (Amerispeak), Tony. Ya sound like a kindred soul, fer sure! Australia--one o' the places I've always wanted to visit.
A few or more years ago during this worst nightmare which has been rained upon the globe IN MY NAME, I began to know that we Americans are about needing good folks worldwide to come to OUR aid. You know, the way we've self-righteously (sometimes) sent our "fair elections overseers" to other countries (but now WE need y'all HERE) or have sent so-called financial "aid" elsewhere (thank goodness for individuals everywhere AND countries like Venezuela & Cuba & more for their efforts when the New Orleans levees failed here but the govmint purposely--to DATE--set 'em up to & the people to drown), etc. I honestly think that, 'tho I've always believed that the world benefits the more individuals help one another globally, we in the U.S. seriously are likely to need help (we need to help ourSELVES first, of course-- real patriots like on this site have yet to get thru to mainstream America, 'tho it's way better than what the media reports) with OUR democracy!

Thanks Tony! You probably don't realize how much I needed to hear that this morning! Just sat down to work (the payin' kind) after trying to get my house back in order. This activism takes its toll sometimes and it's easy to neglect things and then you wonder why the hell am I doing this? So, the timing of your message is spot on. Of course, I'll never give up, but we all need a boost now and again don't we? - In Solidarity, Cheryl

p.s. LOVED the "bum" greeting Bush got down under. Please tell your friends the majority of the American people want him locked up.
